So lag der Anteil der USA am BIP der G7-Staaten im Jahre 1990 bei ca. 40%; heute macht er mehr als die H\u00e4lfte aus. Was waren die wichtigsten Gr\u00fcnde daf\u00fcr? The USA performs particularly well compared to other countries when it comes to increasing productivity, as no one else invests as much in research and development as the USA. Ein weiterer Faktor ist der Shale-Boom (Erschliessung von Schiefer\u00f6l und -gas durch Fracking), der sie zum Selbstversorger bei \u00d6l und Gas machte und die Preise tief h\u00e4lt. Ebenfalls unterst\u00fctzend wirken der grosse, einheitliche Markt, relativ wenig Regulation und nicht zuletzt die Immigration. <\/p>\n
Following the re-election of Donald Trump as US President, the question arises as to whether the successful model is at risk. At first glance, aggressive rhetoric against immigrants and in favor of new tariffs give rise to fears of the worst. For a realistic assessment, you have to bear in mind what Donald Trump promised his voters: Lower prices and less immigration. Die beiden Punkte beissen sich aber: Die USA sind im Tieflohnbereich auf g\u00fcnstige Immigranten angewiesen, beispielsweise in der Landwirtschaft oder bei der Fleischverarbeitung. Resistance to restrictions is therefore inevitable. Trump is therefore likely to focus primarily on asylum and the emigration of criminal foreigners. There are also contradictions when it comes to customs duties: New high import duties, especially on consumer products, would only fuel inflation, which is diametrically opposed to the election promise. The Trump administration will therefore only introduce high tariffs selectively and use them primarily as a threat to achieve good trade agreements. The “customs pistol” is loaded, but whether it will be fired is anything but certain.<\/p>\n
To summarize, we believe that the US economy will continue to prosper under the Trump presidency. Es ist nicht auszuschliessen, dass einzelne Unternehmen, die nur in der Schweiz produzieren, durch die Androhung oder Einf\u00fchrung von Z\u00f6llen unter Druck geraten k\u00f6nnten.
